About the Founder
Blessing Akinsunmade
At the heart of The Afrikraft Fashion House is Blessing Akinsunmade; a visionary creative, storyteller, and digital marketing strategist whose passion for culture fuels everything she creates.
Blessing’s journey into fashion began with a simple belief: that African creativity deserves to be seen, worn, and celebrated on every stage. Through The Afrikraft, she transforms indigenous fabrics and prints into bold, contemporary pieces that speak of heritage, pride, and timeless style. For her, fashion is more than design, it’s storytelling through thread and texture.
Her unique blend of artistry and strategy has positioned The Afrikraft as one of the most promising voices in Africa’s emerging fashion scene. The brand has proudly showcased at the Ibadan Urban Fashion Weekend (2025) and participated in several cultural and trade exhibitions, including the Bayelsa Food and Art Festival (Oloture Edition) in Yenagoa, the Made in Naija Expo at the Tunde Ogunlade Art Gallery in Ibadan, and the Women Convention Trade Fair in Bayelsa State.
Beyond fashion shows and fairs, Blessing is deeply committed to creative empowerment. She has facilitated numerous skill development sessions from the Queen Moremi Ajansoro Craft Training to several church and community craft programs helping women and youth discover the power of their hands and turn creativity into opportunity.
As a digital marketing strategist, Blessing brings a modern lens to traditional art. She’s passionate about connecting African craftsmanship with global audiences, proving that our heritage is not just beautiful, it’s bankable.
Through her vision, The Afrikraft is more than a fashion brand.
It’s a cultural movement, a celebration of African identity, and a reminder that our creativity is our greatest currency.
