What Started as Curiosity Became The Afrikraft Fashion House
The African Kraft Fashion House ( The Afrikraft) didn’t start in a fashion house. It started in Ondo State, in the life of an English student who was supposed to be focused on books, lectures, and lecture halls.
But curiosity has a way of asking louder questions.
“I wanted more than just understanding my courses. I wanted to create something that would stand the test of time,” our Founder said.
One quiet day in her room in Ondo State, she noticed a piece of Ankara fabric sitting in her wardrobe. Out of curiosity and honestly, boredom, she picked up an old phone pouch, applied super glue, and carefully attached the fabric to it.
There was no grand vision.
No business plan.
Just curiosity. Just vibes.
She stepped out with it and someone noticed. They didn’t see boredom, they saw brilliance.
They asked if she could make one for them. She agreed and charged ₦1500. She made it, delivered it and watched it get received with excitement and pride.
That moment was small, but it spoke loudly. It said:there is something here.
The Afrikraft was born from that exact moment, not from certainty, but from curiosity. Not from perfection, but from courage.
What started as a simple experiment became something more. A brand built on the belief that African identity is not something you explain. It is something you wear. Something you carry. Something you embody.
Today, The African Kraft Fashion House exists to turn African heritage into everyday presence. Pieces that speak before you do. Pieces that make you feel rooted, confident, and seen.
Because sometimes, the things we create while catching cruise may end up creating a lasting legacy Africans need.
Our Tagline remains,
Na Africa dey give us vibes.
Na you dey make us trend.
